This December, we’re shining a spotlight on one of the key figures ensuring our projects run smoothly and successfully: Senior Project Engineer, Chris Schoen. Chris is responsible for guiding projects from start to finish, managing everything from budgets and scopes to final execution. What he loves most about his role is the chance to collaborate with every department, supporting their unique needs and seeing how all the pieces come together to drive the business forward.
A Journey Through Tech
Chris has a rich and diverse background that gives him a unique perspective on IT. He began his career in customer service before moving into technical support. He then spent a decade deep in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) world, gaining extensive experience in IT service delivery. His journey also took him through the cutting edge of AI and into the world of internal IT management, giving him a well-rounded view of technology from every angle.
A Brush with the Unexpected
Every family has its legendary stories, but Chris’s is one for the ages. When he was just one year old, he was accidentally dropped into the ocean during a storm! For a heart-stopping moment, he was lost to the waves, until another wave miraculously pushed him right into his father’s legs. It’s a dramatic reminder of how quickly things can change, and a story that’s become an unforgettable part of his life.
Off the Clock
When he’s not steering projects, Chris is happiest spending time outdoors with his wife and son, whether it’s golfing, playing stickball, or just enjoying nature. He also has a creative side, with a passion for writing and playing music.
As a kid, he dreamed of being a veterinarian, a passion for animals that he still holds today. The person he admires most is his mother, who worked in both HR and IT. “I like to think I inherited my technical instincts from her,” he says. “More importantly, she showed me perseverance—even during difficult times, she kept our family at the center of everything.”

From his deep technical expertise to his calm resilience (perhaps tested from a very young age!), Chris is an invaluable part of the Midnight Blue team. We’re lucky to have him driving our projects to success!
